MLTACKTM a joint development between Mitsui & Co., Europe and LUVOBATCH, the masterbatch division within the LEHVOSS Group, is a new product series of extrudable hot-melt adhesives for packaging applications.

Reclose functionality in packaging applications offers consumers increased convenience and enables food to stay fresh longer in the home refrigerators. The MLTACKTM series is a range of easy-to-handle and easy-to-process hot-melt adhesives for reclose functionality in multi-layer film structures. Ideally used in blown-film technology, the products can be combined with both PE and PP, as well as PET.

The resins have been optimized to enable storage for months at slightly elevated temperatures, without them lumping together. Furthermore, the low MFI makes the resins easily and reliably extrudable even in very complex film structures. Yet the reclose forces in e.g. MLTACK 5263TM are high enough to  open and reclose a pack 10 times.

All products in the MLTACKTM series are food approved and can safely be used in food packaging.

LUVOBATCH®, the masterbatch division within the LEHVOSS Group, has developed a complete portfolio of blowing agent masterbatches for foamed core PVC Pipes. By foaming the middle layer in a multi-layer pipe with a blowing agent masterbatch, the density and thus the costs of PVC pipes can be significantly reduced. The broad LUVOBATCH product portfolio offers easy, well-proven and safe ways of doing this without jeopardizing the mechanical properties of the pipes.

The portfolio ranges from well-established highly concentrated exothermic products to completely endothermic and ADCA-free solutions:

LUVOBATCH® EV BA 5391 – highly efficient exothermic blowing agent, with superior nucleation and cell-size

LUVOBATCH® EV BA 5391-01 – highly efficient exothermic blowing agent, with superior nucleation and cell-size, optimized for high-temperature feeding

LUVOBATCH® EV BA 5332 - highly efficient exothermic blowing agent, particularly well-suited for applications containing a high degree of fillers

LUVOBATCH® EV BA 5394 and 5395 – new, completely endothermic, ADCA-free solutions.

All products are available as easy-to-dose and optimally dispersible micro-pellet masterbatches.

Under the brand name LUVOBATCH® the LEHVOSS Group produces and sells blowing agent, flame retardant as well as additive masterbatches, amongst others systems for stabilizing polypropylene and polyamide for high temperature applications.

The usage of highly concentrated masterbatches as an alternative to stabilized compound solutions offers the advantage that the dosage can be exactly adopted to the individual needs and requirements of each application. This means significantly more flexibility and often also a cost saving.

To enable polypropylene to be used in automotive applications, which require a higher heat stability, the produce LUVOBATCH® PE AO 0077 was developed. Not stabilized polypropylene may often not be used in these applications, as the temperature requirements cannot be fulfilled. Using LUVOBATCH® PP AO 0077 increases the temperature stability significantly and thus enables polypropylene to be used in areas, in which normally only technical, high-temperature polymers are being used.

For polyamide, the LUVOBATCH® team offers the copper stabilized products LUVOBATCH® PA HS 9611 and LUVOBATCH® PA AO 0043. These masterbatches offer a superb stabilization for construction elements and products, which are exposed to higher temperatures over a longer time-period. For example, by using 5% of LUVOBATCH® PA AO 0043 in PA6, 70% of the mechanical properties were retained after exposure to 175°C for 240 hours and 150°C for 3000 hours. Also using 5% LUVOBATC®H PA AO 0043 in filaments of PA1010 and PA 6.10, the applications can be exposed to 180°C for seven days.

Which of the two products that should be used is determined by the end application: LUVOBATCH® PA HS 9611 is food approved and should be used for dark, non-transparent applications, while LUVOBATCH® PA 0043 is for technical applications and can be also used in transparent applications.
